Lenovo claims the Miix 720 will deliver "up to 8-hours" of battery life and features a USB connection that never sleeps; meaning you can charge a USB device while your Miix 720 is powered off. For starters, Lenovo has upgraded to more power-efficient 15W processors on Intel's Kaby Lake architecture. The tablet has been secured with Microsoft's Windows Hello biometric protection, letting users unlock it by using the front camera though it's not immediately clear whether the system uses facial recognition or iris scanning. That being said, one of the USB Type-C ports doubles as a Thunderbolt 3 port for high speed data transfers and connecting to external displays.

This new Active Pen 2 has over 4,000 levels of pressure sensitivity, which is double what the first generation model had, and will be available to buy from February for just $60 (roughly £50).

As for the backlit keyboard, Lenovo boasts that it will be accurate and feel good thanks to the 1.5mm key travel.

The Miix 720 should be available sometime in April 2017 starting around $999. We'll see how things go for Windows tablets in the first quarter of 2017. While the the Lenovo Active Pen 2 stylus will be available for US$59, the notebook will come bundled with it.
