Rogue NASA Twitter account strikes back at Donald Trump

Rogue Twitter feeds voicing employee concerns at more than a dozen US government agencies have been launched in defiance of what they say are President Donald Trump's attempts to muzzle federal climate change research and other science. Meanwhile, the US National Park Service (NPS) has been banned from tweeting after it posted some content that the Trump administration took offence to. Trump as everyone knows so well has called climate change a load of hooey that is pseudoscience and moreover a fraud.

Donald Trump's gag order on federal science agencies is continuing to spawn a wave of anonymous Twitter accounts, each claiming to speak for a branch of the government.

NASA alone inspired several unaffiliated "rebel" namesakes, including @NASAGoneRogue ("NASA Employees taking a stand"), @RogueNASA ("The unofficial "Resistance" team of NASA") and @NASARogueOne ("Rebel with a cause"). Meanwhile, the organisers have even set up "March for Science" account on Twitter to promote the digital resistance and hold the march. They also say that followers can "come for the facts" and "stay for the snark". At this time, National Park Service social media managers are encouraged to continue the use of Twitter to post information relating to public safety and park information, with the exception of content related to national policy issues.
