It is pertinent to mention here that Karachi Kings have not lost a single fixture to Islamabad United in the current edition of PSL 2017. The victor of the PSL 2nd Playoff will play with Peshawar on March 3 and the victor of that match will be qualified for finals which will be played on March 5. He returned to take Nicholas Pooran's wicket.

Interestingly, the last match of group stage was between United and Kings, which the later won by 6 wickets to qualify for the play-offs. But it was more agony for them as Asif became the seventh to depart, handing a catch to Sangakkara while trying to run a Usama delivery down to third man. Usama then made use of the DRS for his third wicket, sending back Mohammad Sami, while Amad Butt was cleaned up by Sohail soon after. However, Shadab Khan's spell was exceptional as the bowler picked up 3 of the 4 wickets, giving away just 13 runs. "I think we batted badly", he admitted.
