Michael Flynn Received $70000 In Payments From Russian Companies In 2015

Russian and Russia-linked entities paid President Donald Trump's former national security advisor Mike Flynn $55,500 for work that included attending a gala with President Vladimir Putin, according to documents released Thursday.

Elijah Cummings, the top Democrat on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, released checks, emails and invoices that showed Flynn was paid nearly $34,000 to attend the event by RT. As Business Insider reports, the event's other keynote speaker, U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul did not receive a payment to speak at the event.

The U.S. government has said RT, which receives Kremlin funding, is part of a network of propaganda outlets that help popularize a pro-Russian perspective on the news, issuing warnings about the network dating to before Flynn entered the private sector.

And in December 2015, Flynn was also paid $33,750 by the Kremlin-backed news organization RT for a speech about foreign policy and intelligence matters at a conference in Russian Federation, the newspaper said.

The newly released documents show that Flynn was also paid $11,250 that year by the USA subsidiary of a Russian cybersecurity firm, Kaspersky Lab, and another $11,250 by the Russian charter cargo airline Volga-Dnepr Airlines. An additional $11,250 was paid to Leading Authorities, Flynn's speaking agents. In addition to having his travel expenses and lodging covered, Flynn was paid a $45,000 speaker fee, although his speakers bureau took a cut of $11,250.

In the letter, Cummings accused Flynn of violating the emoluments clause as it pertains to military regulations that prohibit retired military officers from receiving payments from a foreign government.

Elon Musk offers to fix Australian power network in 100 days
Australia is the world's top market for rooftop solar, and South Australia uses more renewable power than anywhere in the country. Musk claimed the feat could be accomplished at a global cost of $250 per kilowatt hours for 100 megawatt systems.

After his firing, Flynn's lobbying firm filed documents disclosing the disgraced national security adviser had worked during the presidential campaign on behalf of a shadowy man with close ties to the Turkish government.

Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., sent a letter on Thursday to President Trump, Secretary of Defense James Mattis, and FBI Director James Comey stating that "I can not recall any time in our nation's history when the President selected as his National Security Advisor someone who violated the Constitution by accepting tens of thousands of dollars from an agent of a global adversary that attacked our democracy".

Flynn was forced to resign as Trump's national security adviser in February after he failed to disclose the extent of his conversations with the Russian ambassador to the U.S. In January, the US intelligence community concluded that RT propaganda played a role in Russia's effort to influence the USA presidential election and help Donald Trump defeat Democrat Hillary Clinton.

"I'm not a G2 guy, but I feel like I'd remember receiving "$68,000 in fees and expenses from Russia-related entities in 2015", including $11,250 from a cybersecurity firm rumored to be connected to USA election hacking.

The retired general, who once headed the US Defense Intelligence Agency, earned $33,000 just to go to the December 2015 party held by RT, the global television agency that the US now says is an arm of Russian intelligence.

Asked if Flynn reported the payment, Floyd had no comment.
